The Oil Media Exhibition at The Gallery is an opportunity to celebrate all forms of oil media! From oil pastels, to paints, cold wax, encaustic, and oil-based inks, oil media provides a wealth of luscious colors, textures and surfaces for the artists’ repertoire. Throughout history, oil media have changed the course of art, offering artists endless possibilities for expression and technique and yielding some of art’s most beloved masterpieces.
The juror for this show is Thomas Kitts.

About Thomas
Thomas Jefferson Kitts is inspired by the way light plays across his subjects and has devoted most of his life to traveling and capturing it in oil. Thomas prefers to work directly from life for its honesty and immediacy, incorporating many alla prima techniques developed by master artists such as Sargent, Sorolla, and Zorn.
Thomas has painted observationally, en plein air, for more than 33 years, first starting out in 1984 after graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute.
