Juror notes: This piece probably has the loosest approach out of any of the award winners. Throughout the judging process, it kept catching my eye because I could immediately sense the hazy light quality in which thelandscape is bathed. It’s evident that this artist was keenly aware of painting light and shapes, rather then merely rendering “things” in the landscape.
