Juror notes: What a great capture of a cat’s personality and the background creates a mood with subdued colors and a softness that is compelling. Get up close to this piece and you will see this is not an ordinary animal portrait. The division of space is well done, with the dark to light drawing the viewer up to the cat’s interesting expression. The softly implied trees are a beautiful addition to the creation of the mood.
