Juror Notes:Impeccably observed and succinctly rendered, there’s a stillness to this painting. There is, in the depiction of the way the light shifts across the mass of the church to the reflections in those suggested windows to the volume of trees, just enough to put us in the shoes of the artist in that place under that light. You can feel the air.
