Juror's Note: Fell in love with this painting the moment I first saw it. It was as if I was that figure walking quietly in the snow. This bold simplified landscape is very well designed. The arrangement of shapes, use of limited as well as complimentary color and strong value was masterfully handled. It has a painterly quality that reminds me of the California School art movement.
