Juror's Note: Artwork has a job, and that job is to create an emotional response from the viewer. When I first saw this painting, my response was “joy”. I could comment on the fun, energetic brush strokes, or the stylized, playful shapes, or even the smart yet fun color choices. I could mention all of those things, but they would be secondary to the smile that this painting gave me.
