Juror notes: It’s evident that this artist had a very focused idea in mind for this piece, and followed through with it. The bold, dark color for the shadow makes a strong visual statement, and the looseness of the surrounding structures supports that statement. Good variety of shapes and paint thickness also makes this piece successful.
